What does a conveyancing solicitor do?

A conveyancing solicitor checks the legal title, reviews contracts, orders and explains searches, raises enquiries, deals with mortgage lender requirements, manages exchange and completion, and registers ownership with HM Land Registry.

How long does conveyancing take?

Most straightforward residential transactions take around 8 to 12 weeks, but timescales depend on the chain, searches, mortgage offer, leasehold information and whether any title issues need resolving.

How much does conveyancing cost?

Our conveyancing legal fees are usually quoted as a fixed fee where possible. The total cost also includes VAT and disbursements such as searches, Land Registry fees and bank transfer fees.
